Surin is one of the oldest capital city of Thailand which the local villagers have been told that " Kings' Khmer established the city about 2,000 years ago". Later, the City was destroyed which the people move to other place.

Surin is famous place of elephant roundup and numerous silk villages and the atmospheric ruins of Prasat Ta Meuan. Surin is one of the nice place for visiting and study the Thais, Laos and Khmer culture.

BAN TA KLANG ELEPHANT VILLAGE

Ban Ta Klang Elephant Village located 58 km. from the City which the attraction place is the former villages of "Thai Suai". Which Thai Suai is the master of round-up, training center, and raise elephants. The travellers can enjoy with daily elephant training show during October - November.

BAN BU THOM BASKETRY VILLAGE

Ban Bu Thom Basketry Village is one of the famous place about the handicraft products as rattan basketry weaving.

LUANGG PHO PHRA CHI, WAT BURAPHARAM

Wat Burapharam is one of the important temple of Surin which the local people sacred the Buddha image "Luang Pho Phra Chi". The architecture of temple is very modern style and nice place.

SILK WEAVING VILLAGES

Silk Weaving Villages is one of the famous place of Surin which the villages are well-know of local hand-woven silk and hand-crafted gold and silver beads for sales. SURIN CITY PILLAR SHRINE

Surin City Pillar Shrine located 500 meters from the west side of the City Hall. Which the City Pillar Shrine was built in 1968 to replace the old one.

PRASAT PHUM PON

Prasat Phum Pon is one of the oldest ancient Khmer sanctuary of Prei Kameng period about 12-13 era.

PRASAT BAN PHLAI

Prasat Ban Phlai is one of the famous place for the Khmer sanctuary donated the GODs. Prasat Ban Phlai has 3 brick Prangs situated on a common moated laterite base which the Prasat Ban Phlai built in 16 era.

PRASAT HIN BAN PHULUANG

Prasat Hin Ban Phuluang is Hindu sanctuary of Baphuon during King's Chaiworaman I to VI at era of 16-17. If you have free time and like the Khmer culture let visit there. Prasat Hin Ban Phuluang is open every day from 07:30 a.m to 06:00 p.m. admission fee 30 baht.

PRASAT TAMUAN THOM

Prasat Tamuan Thom is the Khmer sancetuary Comprises 3 Prangs decorated with the bas-reliefs of floral designs.

PRASAT SIKHORAPHUM

Prasat Sikhoraphum was established the 5 brick Prangs on common laterite base around mid 17 era. We are comment you to visit there for sight seeing and Khmer architecture of ruins. Prasat Silkhoraphum is open every day from 07:30 a.m. - 06:00 p.m. admission fee is 30 baht.
