Trip Description

Thailand ( Kanchanaburi - riverkwai , Srinakarin Lake District , Erawan National Park , Kwai Yai River )

Jungle trekking on the wild elephant's trail gives you a chance to learn about them, observe their footprints and other signs. Then enjoy elephant riding and rafting along the River Kwai. Fullfil your trip by a train ride on the Death Railway that provides the impressive view of the River Kwai stretch.

07:30 Pick up from Kanchanaburi and proceed to the wildlife sanctuary (45 minutes drive). En route enjoy the picturesque scenery along the River Kwai with its magnificent limestone mountains backdrop and lake view
   
08:15 Reach the sanctuary, then set off a jungle journey by 4x4 vehicle on a 9 km
dirt road cutting through the bamboo forest. This forest part is one of the most
significant feeding grounds for the wild elephants. In the dry season (Nov-
April), it is likely to to have a direct sighting of them. About 45 minutes drive.
   
09:15 Reach the forest protection unit surrounded by the “hunting-field-cum-the
conservation area.” This is the most important habitat of wild elephants living
in this wildlife sanctuary. Nature walk into the forest, learn about the
elephants and their ecology (their society, the forest they live, mineral licks
and food they feed on). Observations of wildlife footprints. If time permits, hike to a hilltop nearby to enjoy a scenic view of the former hunting field over a vast area surrounded by limestone mountains.
   
11:15 Return to the campsite. Coffee/tea break, then depart by 4x4 vehicle out off the
forest. Help improve natrual salt licks with the forest rangers .

Enjoy picnic lunch amidst the natural surroundings by the stream

   
13:00 After Lunch, continue to the elephant camp by the River Kwai
   
14:00 Be excited with soft adventure on the elephant back and then bamboo rafting
   
15:40 Enjoy the train journey from Wang Poh to Tha Kilaen stations along the historical Death Railway running in parallel with the well known River Kwai
   
16:40 Arrive Tha Kilaen station, pick up and proceed to Kanchanaburi town
   
17:30 Upon arrival, transfer to the accommodation in Kanchanaburi.
